Kelsey Tucker

With over a decade of experience in community mental health, rehabilitation, and trauma-informed care, Kelsey Tucker is an award-winning Occupational Therapist, clinical educator, and leader dedicated to providing compassionate care in her community. She has designed and led innovative recovery-oriented programs, helping individuals rebuild stability, resilience, and meaningful participation in daily life. Her work emphasizes practical strategies that restore autonomy, strengthen relationships, and support reintegration into work, family, and community roles.

As a life-long learner, Kelsey has undertaken extensive professional development and uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mind-body medicine, and cognitive rehabilitation, integrating these approaches through an occupational therapy lens. She specializes in trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care and has extensive experience supporting people living with operational stress injuries, concurrent mental health challenges, and complex life transitions.

She is a proponent of the healing power of meaningful activity and orients her practice around helping people chart meaning through re-engagement, self-discovery, and playfulness. The gifts of meaningful engagement bear out in her own life, where she is grateful for her role teaching Mindful Self-Compassion and where her passion as a gardener brings her more in harmony with the natural world.

Kelsey is known for her good humour, her clinical acumen, and her collaborative, strengths-based approach. She looks forward to building meaningful connections with her clients and their supporters to create personalized, evidence-based pathways toward recovery and long-term wellbeing. She is committed to delivering care that is practical, ethical, and grounded in real-world resilience.
